Cornflower ‘Centaurea cyanus’

Well known in gardens in various colour forms. Has bright blue flowers. Centaurea cyanus, commonly known as cornflower or bachelor’s button, is an annual flowering plant. The cornflower has edible flowers that can be used for culinary decoration, for example to add colour to salads. Cornflowers petals have been used historically for their blue pigment. Cornflowers are often used as an ingredient in some tea blends and herbal teas, and is known in the Lady Grey blend of Twinings (a brand of English tea).
