Anemone nemorosa is an early-spring flowering plant in the buttercup family. Common names include wood anemone, windflower, thimbleweed and smell fox.

The plants start blooming soon after the foliage emerges from the ground.  They like moist but well drained soil which is part shaded.

Plant 7-8 cm deep (2-3 inches) and 10-15 cm apart on their longest side.  To soak in water either overnight or for a few hours prior is beneficial.

Description

Graceful, nodding white flowers. Shade. 3-6 cm March-May.

The rhizomes supplied will be dormant and are grown in the UK from cultivated stock.
