Celebrate the return of spring with the soft, nodding blooms of the Wild Daffodil - Narcissus pseudonarcissus - the classic native species that once blanketed meadows, hedgerows, and woodlands across the British countryside.
Smaller and more refined than modern hybrids, wild daffodils have pale yellow petals with a deeper yellow trumpet, and flower from March to April. They're ideal for naturalising in lightly shaded borders, grassy verges, orchard edges or woodland-style plantings, where they’ll return and multiply gently over time.
This is the true wild species, not a cultivated variety - grown without peat or pesticides to protect the soil, pollinators, and native heritage.
Joel says:
“The wild daffodil is a national treasure. Its gentle form and early nectar make it a brilliant companion for native bees and butterflies - especially in wildlife meadows or the dappled edge of a hedge.”
