Installing the box is quick and easy. The mounting plate (included) slots into a hole on the backside of the box. This allows you to mount the plate, then offer up and attach the box. A much easier process than trying to mount the box directly. The box comes with clear instructions and all the necessary fixings for quick and hassle-free installation. Placing Your Box:

1. Optimal Height: Hang the Tawny Owl Box at a height of 3 to 5 meters (10 to 16 feet) from the ground. This provides Tawny Owls with a suitable height for flight and easy access to the box.

2. Woodland or Garden Setting: Position the box in a suitable habitat, such as woodlands, parks, or gardens with mature trees. Tawny Owls are adaptable and can thrive in various environments, but they prefer areas with ample vegetation and cover.

3. Orientation: Face the entrance of the box away from prevailing winds, typically towards the east or southeast, to provide protection from strong winds and harsh weather conditions. This helps maintain a comfortable temperature inside the box.

4. Clear Flight Path: Ensure there are no obstacles, such as branches or wires, obstructing the flight path to the box. Tawny Owls require a clear approach and departure route for easy access.

5. Privacy and Seclusion: Choose a location away from high human traffic areas or places with frequent disturbance. Tawny Owls prefer quiet and secluded environments for nesting and resting.
