Making a pond how Joel Ashton shows? This is the right subsoil! The key to all of Joel's pond and meadow creations over the last 18 years is the use of the right subsoil. There are various types of subsoil but this subsoil is the perfect balance for creating successful wildlife ponds and also for wildflower meadows, that prefer poor soil quality with the right sand content. Orders for subsoil cannot be returned, due to the size and weight of the items delivered.
Please ensure someone is available to sign for the delivery which is kerbside only.
Delivery is via a Pallet Courier with a Tail-Lift only, so deliveries can only be kerbside. We cannot facilitate a HIAB lorry with crane offload as standard, please get in touch with the team if this is what is required so we can get a quote for you.
Delivery must be to a flat, non-gravel surface only.
If there are any foreseen issues with a tight turning circle or road surface material, please contact us so we can ensure a smooth delivery before ordering.

Each bag contains around 750-850kg of subsoil.

You may find plenty suitable to use when digging out your pond, however if you are digging a sizeable pond and need more or want to ensure it's the right subsoil, Joel has worked with the specialist quarries he uses to enable them to ship in bulk bags, rather than the usual required 20 tonne lorry loads - way too much for most garden ponds. Now we can deliver it kerb-side to your home in smaller bulk bag quantities than you would usually be able to order!
