Additional Info

Silene dioica, commonly known as red campion, is a beautiful native wildflower that brings colour, movement and wildlife value to gardens from late spring into summer.

Its bright pink-red flowers are a favourite of bees, butterflies and moths, particularly along woodland edges, hedgerows and lightly shaded borders. In the wild, red campion often grows in mixed plant communities - weaving naturally among grasses, cow parsley and other native plants - creating exactly the relaxed, living landscapes many wildlife gardeners want to encourage.

Easy to grow and happy in partial shade or sun, Silene dioica is ideal for naturalistic planting schemes, wildlife borders and gardens where plants are allowed to find their own balance. It often self-seeds gently, helping it establish in the right places without becoming invasive.

A true native that looks right, feels right, and supports wildlife exactly as nature intended.
