A dramatic elder with wildlife value and ornamental flair
This upright, columnar variety of elder (Sambucus nigra) is a real showstopper with its deep purple-black foliage, soft pink-blushed elderflower clusters, and dark autumn berries that are irresistible to birds.
Unlike the common elder, ‘Black Tower® Eiffel’ has a neat, vertical habit, making it ideal for smaller gardens, wildlife-friendly borders, or even feature planting in more formal spaces. The flowers are loved by pollinators, and the berries are a vital food source for blackbirds, thrushes, and warblers, Supplied in a 12 litre container.
Joel says:
“This one’s a head-turner, but don’t let the good looks fool you—it’s still packed with wildlife value. A great choice if you’re short on space but want something bold that feeds the birds and works hard for pollinators.”
