Perovskia ‘Blue Spire’, often known as Russian sage, is a long-flowering, nectar-rich perennial that brings colour, movement and resilience to wildlife-friendly gardens.
From mid-summer into autumn, clouds of soft blue flowers rise above silvery-grey foliage, creating a light, airy presence that pollinating insects absolutely love. Bees, butterflies and hoverflies are drawn to it in large numbers, especially later in the season when other nectar sources are starting to fade.
Despite its delicate appearance, Perovskia is a tough and reliable plant. It thrives in full sun, copes well with dry conditions once established, and is ideal for free-draining soils, gravel gardens and naturalistic planting schemes.
A brilliant choice for adding late-season wildlife value, structure and a calm, silver-blue palette to the garden.
