Meadowsweet - Wildlife-Friendly Native (Peat-Free Super Plugs & 9cm Pots)

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is a beautifully frothy, sweet-scented native that brings a touch of wild elegance to damp areas, stream edges, pond margins, or moisture-retaining borders. With its feathery white flower heads rising above tall stems from June to September, it's a true favourite for bees, hoverflies, and beetles - especially in wetter parts of the garden where other plants may struggle.

Historically used in medieval strewing herbs for its pleasant fragrance, Meadowsweet remains beloved today not just by gardeners but by pollinators in search of reliable nectar sources through the summer.

Joel says...
“Meadowsweet is one of those plants that belongs in any garden with a damp spot. Whether it’s a pond edge, a soggy border, or just a corner that never quite dries out - this plant will thrive and feed the pollinators while it’s at it. It’s a proper wild garden classic, and of course it’s peat-free, from plug to pot.”

🌱 Why Choose Peat-Free?

Our Meadowsweet is grown using completely peat-free compost in both 9cm pots and Super Plugs. Choosing peat-free helps protect the UK’s irreplaceable peatlands and the unique wildlife they support - from mosses and liverworts to dragonflies, birds, and carbon-storing habitats.

🌿 Available in:
