Placing Your Bat Box:

1. Optimal Height: Hang the bat box at a height of 3 to 5 meters (10 to 16 feet) from the ground, providing bats with a suitable height for flight and easy access to the box.

2. Sheltered Location: Position the Large Colony Bat Box in a sheltered spot, preferably near trees or buildings that offer natural cover. Bats prefer roosting in secluded areas that provide protection from the elements and potential predators.

3. Orientation: Face the entrance of the box away from prevailing winds and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. This helps maintain a stable temperature inside the box, creating a comfortable roosting environment.

4. Clear Flight Path: Ensure there are no obstacles, such as wires, obstructing the flight path to the bat box. Bats require a clear approach and departure route for easy access.

5. Accessibility to Water: If possible, place the Large Colony Bat Box near a water source, such as a pond or river. Bats rely on water for drinking and insect foraging, and having water nearby enhances their roosting site.
