Enjoy delicious home-grown cobnuts and a boost for local wildlife with Hazel (Corylus ‘Hall’s Giant’) - a vigorous cobnut variety prized for its large, reliable nut harvest and value as a wildlife haven.
In early spring, it produces pretty yellow catkins, providing pollen for bees when few other plants are in flower. The dense branching offers safe nesting sites for birds and small mammals, while the nuts feed squirrels, dormice and - if you’re quick - your autumn larder too!
Joel says: “‘Hall’s Giant’ is a brilliant old cobnut - tasty nuts, beautiful spring catkins and dense cover for wildlife. Give it some space or keep it trimmed — either way, it’s a gem for any wildlife garden." Supplied in a 7 litre container.
THESE WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE TO ORDER FROM THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY FOR DELIVERY IN THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST 2025 More info below:£72.00
Naturally strong-growing, ‘Hall’s Giant’ can reach around 4–5 metres tall and wide, but it responds very well to pruning and traditional coppicing to keep it at a manageable size and encourage more nuts. Perfect for a wildlife-friendly hedge, edible boundary or to anchor a generous corner of a wildlife garden.
