Ginkgo is incredibly hardy and tolerant of urban conditions, pollution and poor soil. While not a native, it is a gentle addition to a wildlife-friendly garden, offering seasonal leaf cover for insects and visual interest throughout the year. Naturally slow-growing, it can reach 8–12 metres tall in time but can be pruned and shaped if needed.
