English Bluebell ‘Hyacinthoides non-scripta’ – Spring ‘in the green’ bulbs

A favourite spring flower. Fragrant blue-violet flowers from April to June. Good in woodland in association with Red Campion and Greater Stitchwort. Common names for Hyacinthoides non-scripta include bluebell, common bluebell, English bluebell, British bluebell, wild hyacinth, wood bell, fairy flower and bell bottle. Bluebells are most successful on slightly acid soils. As a species adapted to woodlands, the young shoots are able to penetrate through a thick layer of leaf litter, and bluebells are often used as an indicator species to identify ancient woodland. Bluebells are also frequently found in hedgerows, and in the west of their range they can be found growing in open habitats, including coastal meadows. If your bulbs are not ready until February, all bulbs will be sent together then.
