Echinacea purpurea, commonly known as purple coneflower, is a bold, long-flowering perennial that brings colour, structure and wildlife value to the garden throughout summer.
Large, daisy-like flowers with raised coppery centres are rich in nectar and pollen, attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects in abundance. Later in the season, the seed heads are often visited by birds, adding further value to wildlife-friendly planting.
This is a robust, easy-going plant that thrives in sunny positions with well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and requires very little maintenance, making it ideal for naturalistic borders, meadow-style planting and mixed wildlife gardens.
A dependable perennial that supports wildlife across multiple seasons while adding strong visual impact.
